Este 2021 es la actriz de teatro, cine y televisión Helen Mirren la autora del mensaje del Día Mundial del Teatro, que se celebra como cada año el 27 de marzo.

Este ha sido un momento muy difícil para las presentaciones en vivo y muchos artistas, técnicos/as y artesanos/as y mujeres han luchado en una profesión que ya está cargada de inseguridad.

Quizás esa inseguridad siempre presente les ha hecho más capaces de sobrevivir a esta pandemia con ingenio y coraje.

Su imaginación ya se ha traducido, en estas nuevas circunstancias, en formas ingeniosas, entretenidas y conmovedoras de comunicarse, gracias, por supuesto, en gran parte a Internet.

Los seres humanos se han contado historias durante todo el tiempo que han estado en el planeta. La hermosa cultura del teatro vivirá mientras estemos aquí.

El impulso creativo de escritores/as, diseñadores/as, bailarines/as, cantantes, actores/actrices, músicos, directores/as, nunca se sofocará y en un futuro muy cercano florecerá nuevamente con una nueva energía y una nueva comprensión del mundo que todos compartimos.

World Theatre Day Message 2021 by Helen MIRREN

«This has been such a very difficult time for live performance and many artists, technicians and craftsmen and women have struggled in a profession that is already fraught with insecurity.

Maybe that always present insecurity has made them more able to survive this pandemic with wit and courage.

Their imagination has already translated itself, in these new circumstances, into inventive, entertaining and moving ways to communicate, thanks of course in large part to the internet.

Human beings have told each other stories for as long as they have been on the planet. The beautiful culture of theatre will live for as long as we stay here.

The creative urge of writers, designers, dancers, singers, actors, musicians, directors, will never be suffocated and in the very near future will flourish again with a new energy and a new understanding of the world we all share. I can’t wait!».
